Embedded taximeter
The new Embedded taximeter is a great enhancement that follows the success and the hundreds of
applications made on the F1 taximeter, giving a very powerful and flexible environment for all
present and future requirements.
Embedded taximeter is software compatible with the F1, and share the same core of the new F1 Plus
taximeter. It’s internal architecture has been greatly improved to achieve 100 times more processing
power, large, improved and safe data memory storage, remote firmware upgrade through the
4GMCU serial Com port, and the flexibility of having a graphical user interface on the 4GMCU that
can be easily designed by software.
The meter is strictly integrated with the 4GMCU, but it can also work independently using a separate
power supply, hardware keyboard, external F1/F2 repeater and all its peripherals in case of Windows
application crashes.
Mechanically integrated into the 4GMCU, but electrically independent
Based on the F1 features and Tariff structure, but with 100 more computing power and
memory
16 bits microprocessor, up to 24 Mhz speed
Great resources for all the present and all future requirements
512 Kb or 1 Mb or more Flash memory for safe Data Storage
OTA programmable directly from the MCU, manually or automatically by applications, no
more need to costly replace Eprom
E-Seal record for every firmware change for tracing updates
Independent Power Supply, powered even when MCU is off
Independent Wheel pulses input, to allow the meter to work independently in case of MCU
problems.
Completely software controllable by a Windows CE interface
Possibility to re-use existing F1 as dumb repeaters (as hardware additional display)
3 Serial ports, 115200 bps, one of them is dedicated to communicate with the MCU, the
others are available on the MCU cabling
All the I/O of the F1 taximeter
additional digital and also Analog I/O channels
All present F1 peripherals can be connected to the Embedded through the DerivBox, allowing
to reuse exiting devices and leaving more 4GMCU resources available for the future:
o
Printer Due
o
IU interface
o
Roof Sign
o
Optional Repeater for taximeter display
o
Dallas I-Button System
o
Infrared Passenger Sensor
o
Spare Serial Port for other peripherals or data download
o
Contacless Card reader/writer
Driver Logon and Authentication
The system can be equipped with a Driver ID key reader (Dallas button), to be connected to the
Digitax Derive Box, that allows the driver to be identified by the taximeter before starting its work. If
the driver doesn’t log-in, the meter will remain locked.
Identification can be done also if the MCU is off, so the driver can work also if there is some HW or
SW problem.
This system does not allow the driver to operate with the taximeter if the MCU is log off.
