Command Usage
• The path cost method is used to determine the best path between devices.
Therefore, lower values should be assigned to ports attached to faster media,
and higher values assigned to ports with slower media. Note that path cost
(page 4-214) takes precedence over port priority (page 4-215).
• The path cost methods apply to all spanning tree modes (STP, RSTP and
MSTP). Specifically, the long method can be applied to STP since this mode
is supported by a backward compatible mode of RSTP.

spanning-tree transmission-limit
This command configures the minimum interval between the transmission of
consecutive RSTP/MSTP BPDUs. Use the
no
form to restore the default.

- The transmission limit in seconds. (Range: 1-10)

This command limits the maximum transmission rate for BPDUs.
Example
spanning-tree mst-configuration
This command changes to Multiple Spanning Tree (MST) configuration mode.
Default Setting
• No VLANs are mapped to any MST instance.
• The region name is set the switch’s MAC address.
