Factory Testing Jumpers
The jumper below is for factory
testing only and should always be set
to its default configuration.
Reconfiguring this jumper will cause
problems with your system board.
JP1: 1-2 On
Off: Disabled
2-3 On: COM 2
(default)

1. Set JP11 to the COM port where your modem will be connected.
2. Connect an external modem to the COM 1 or COM 2 serial
port.
Important:
Before connecting your external modem to COM 1 or COM 2,
you must first turn on the power of your modem. This is to
protect your ATX power supply and computer against harmful
interference.
3. Enable the Modem Ring-on function in the “Resume By Ring” field,
and select an IRQ channel for the external modem in the
"Modem Use IRQ" field. Refer to the Power Management Setup
in Chapter 2 of this manual.
4. If your ATX power supply has an On/Off switch, set this to On
so that even when you have shut down (“soft power off”) your
computer, it will always remain in “standby” mode.
