Open Circuit with the Ignition ON Check

Check as follows:

1. Turn the ignition ON (key On, engine OFF).

2. Measure the voltage between pins N and O on the engine side of the 23–pin connector.

[a] If the voltage is less than 11.5 volts, repair the open between pin N of the

23–pin connector and pin 12 of the MCM 120–pin connector (see Figure 44-1) .
Refer to section 44.1.3.1.

[b] If the voltage is between 11.5 and 13.5 volts, go to step 3.

3. Swap the injector.

[a] If fault code 3661/5 is not active after swapping the injector, replace the original

injector.Refer to section 44.1.3.1.

[b] If fault code 3661/5 is still active after swapping the injector, call the Detroit Diesel
