5.  Pour the descaler (D3)

into the tank up to level
A (corresponding to a
100ml pack) marked on
the side of the tank (fig.
36), then add water (1
litre) up to level B (fig.
37)  and put the water
tank back. Place an
empty container with
a minimum capacity
of 1.8 litres under the
coffee spouts (A17) and
hot water spout (D6)(fig.
38).

 Important! Danger of scalding

Hot water containing acid flows out of the coffee spouts and
hot water spout. Take care to avoid contact with splashes of this
solution.
6.   Press the

button to confirm that you have added the

descaler solution

The descale programme begins. The descaler liquid comes
out of the coffee spouts and hot water spout and a series of
rinses and pauses is performed to remove limescale depo-
sits from inside the machine;

After about 25 minutes, the appliance interrupts descaling and
the

 (B12),

 (B15) and

  (B14) lights come on.

7.  The appliance is now ready for rinsing through with clean

water. Empty the container used to collect the descaler
solution. Extract the water tank, empty, rinse under
running water, fill with fresh water up to the MAX level and
put back in the appliance. The

 light comes on.

8.  Place the container used to collect the descaler solution

empty under the coffee spouts and hot water spout (fig. 38);

9.  Press the

button to start rinsing. Hot water comes out

of the spouts.

10.  When the water tank is completely empty, the

and

 lights come on.

11.  Remove the water tank, replace the filter (if previously

removed), fill the tank up to the MAX level with fresh water
and insert it in the appliance. The

 light comes on.

12.  Place the container used to collect the rinsing water empty

under the hot water spout. Press the

 button: The

appliance starts rinsing again, this time from the hot water
spout only.

13.  At the end of the rinse, the

 light comes on. Press the

button and top up the water tank.

The descaling cycle is now complete.

 Please note!

•  If the descaling cycle is not completed correctly (e.g. no

electricity) we recommend repeating the cycle;

•  After descaling, it is normal for the grounds container

(A15) to contain water.

•  If the water tank has not been filled to the MAX level, at

the end of descaling, the appliance requests a third rinse

to guarantee that the descaler solution has been comple-

tely eliminated from the machine's internal circuits. Before
starting rinsing, remember to empty the drip tray.
