Please note :

The filter lasts about two months if the appliance is used 
normally. If the coffee machine is left unused with the filter 
installed, it will last a maximum of three weeks.
3.   To activate the filter run tap water into the hole as 

indicated in the diagram letting the water run out of the 
side openings for at least one minute (fig. 29).

4.   Take out the tank from the appliance and fill with water.
5.    Place the filter in the water tank and submerge it 

completely for ten seconds, tilting it to enable the air 
bubbles to escape (fig. 30).

6.   Insert the filter into the filter housing and press as far as it 

will go (fig. 31A).

7.   Close the tank with the lid (fig. 31B), and then replace the 

tank in the machine.

When you install the filter you must notify the appliance of its 
presence.
8.   Press the 

MENU

 button to access the menu;

9.   Press the 

or

  button repeatedly until “Install 

filter” is displayed.

10.   Press the button  

.

11.   The message “Enable?” appears on the display.
12.   Press the 

 button to confirm selection. “TURN STEAM 

KNOB” appears on the display.

13.  Place a container under the cappuccino maker (min. 

capacity of 100 ml).

14.  Turn the steam knob (fig. 5). “HOT WATER Confirm?” is 

displayed. 

15.  Press the 

 button to confirm selection. The appliance 

begins hot water delivery and the message “Please wait” is 
displayed.

16.  Once delivery is completed, “TURN STEAM KNOB” is 

displayed.

17.   Turn the steam knob to the 0 position (fig. 5). The appliance 

automatically resets to “Coffee ready” status.

The filter is now active and indicated by an asterisk displayed 
in the menu under the item “Install filter”. You can now use the 
coffee machine.

Replacing the filter

When the message “Replace filter” is displayed or after two 
months (see date indicator) or when the appliance has not been 
used for 3 weeks, you should replace the filter.
1.   Remove the water tank and used up filter;
2.   Take the new filter out of its packet and proceed as 

illustrated in points 3, 4, 5 and 6 in the previous section.

3.   Place a container under the cappuccino maker (min. 

capacity of 100 ml).

4.   Press the 

MENU

 button to access the menu;

5.   Press the 

or

  button repeatedly until “Replace 

filter” is displayed.

10.   Press the 

 button;

11.   The message “Confirm?” is displayed.
12.  Press the 

 button to confirm selection. “TURN STEAM 

KNOB” appears on the display;

13.   Turn the steam knob. “HOT WATER Confirm?” is displayed. 
14.  Press the 

 button to confirm selection. The appliance 

begins hot water delivery and the message “Please wait” is 
displayed.

15.  Once delivery is completed, “TURN STEAM KNOB” appears 

on the display. Turn the steam knob to the 0 position. The 
appliance automatically resets to “Coffee ready” status.

The new filter is now active and you can use the coffee machine.

Removing the filter

If you want to continue use the appliance without the filter, you 
must remove it and notify the appliance of its removal. Proceed 
as follows:
1.   Remove the water tank and used up filter;
2.   Press the 

MENU 

button to access the menu;

3.   Press the  

or

  button repeatedly until “Install 

filter” is displayed.

4.   Press the button   

 ;

5.   The message “Disable?” appears on the display; 
6.   Press the  

 button to confirm and the MENU button 

to exit the menu.
