Disconnect the fan power cable from the system board.

Remove in numerical order the four silver, spring-loaded M2.5 x 18-
mm screws that secure the thermal assembly.
HINT:
When you install
the microprocessor
thermal-cooling assembly,
replace the screws in
reverse numerical order.

Lift the microprocessor thermal-cooling assembly away from the
microprocessor and the system board.
Microprocessor Module
NOTICE:
Disconnect the computer and any attached devices from electrical
outlets, and remove any installed battery.
NOTICE:
To avoid ESD, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or
by touching an unpainted metal surface on the computer.

palm rest
.

Remove the
microprocessor thermal-cooling assembly
.
NOTICE:
When removing the microprocessor module, pull the module
straight up. Be careful not to bend the pins on the microprocessor module.
