About Your System
Guidelines for Connecting External Devices
• Turn off power to the system and external devices before attaching a new
external device. Turn on any external devices before turning on the system
(unless the documentation for the device specifies otherwise).
• Ensure that the appropriate driver for the attached device has been
installed on the system.
• If it is necessary to enable ports on your system, see "Using the System
Setup Program and UEFI Boot Manager " on page 53 .
NIC Indicator Codes
12 USB connectors (4) Connect USB devices to the system. The
ports are USB 2.0-compliant.
13 Video connector Connects a monitor to the system.
14 Serial connector Connects a serial device to the system.
15 VFlash media slot
(optional) Connects an external SD memory card
for the optional iDRAC6 Enterprise
card.
16 iDRAC6 Enterprise
port (optional) Dedicated management port for the
optional iDRAC6 Enterprise card.
