The IP4700
Storage Processors
The IP4700 storage processors act as the control center of the IP4700.
The storage processors are hot-swappable and plug into the
midplane. See Figures 1-6 and 1-7.
Each storage processor includes
•
Dual Pentium III processors
•
1 Gbyte of RDRAM memory
•
Three peer PCI buses (64-bit/66-MHz, 32-bit/66-MHz, and
32-bit/33 MHz)
•
32 Kbytes of nonvolatile RAM
•
One 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN port for management and
backup
•
Either:
– Four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN ports for connection to up to
four additional subnets, or
– One 1-Gigabit Ethernet LAN port for high-speed connection
to an additional subnet
•
One serial port used for RS-232 connection to a serial console
•
One serial port used for connection to the standby power supply
(SPS)
•
One Fibre Channel port for a secondary DAE connection
(unused)
•
Mouse, keyboard, and VGA monitor ports (unused)
•
Low-voltage differential/single-ended (LVD/SE) SCSI port for
optional tape backup
