Procedure

Remove the eight screws (M2x5) that secure the base cover to the palm-rest assembly.

Loosen the three captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest assembly.

Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the tabs on the hinges and continue to pry the base cover from the slots on the palm-
rest assembly.

CAUTION: 

Do not pry the base cover from the middle as it might damage the chassis.

Carefully remove the base cover off the palm-rest assembly.
