Steps

1. Peel the tape and disconnect the battery cable, if applicable.
2. Remove the four screws (M2x3) that secure the 3-cell battery to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
3. Lift the 3-cell battery, along with its cable off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.

Installing the 3-cell battery

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

NOTE:

 The following procedure applies only to computers shipped with a 3-cell battery.

Steps

1. Place the 3-cell battery on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
2. Align the screw holes on the 3-cell battery with the screw holes on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
3. Replace the four screws (M2x3) that secure the 3-cell battery to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
4. Connect the battery cable to the system board and adhere the tape that secures the battery cable to the system board.
