NOTICE:
To prevent damage to the computer, do not use tools to spread the
inner metal tabs of the socket when you are installing or removing a memory
module.

If you are replacing a memory module, you must remove the existing
module:
a
Use your fingernails to carefully spread apart the inner metal tabs
of the memory module socket.
The module should pop up.

Lift the memory module away from the socket.

Install the memory module:
HINT:
If the memory
module is not installed
properly, the computer
will not boot. No error
message indicates this
failure.
a
Align the notch in the module with the slot in the center of the
socket.
b
Slide the edge of the module firmly into the socket and rotate the
module down until you hear a click.
