Control Panel Setup Examples
The following examples provide step-by-step instructions for changing parameters from the factory default
values.
Example: Changing Print Contrast and the Default Font
This example shows the steps required to change the print contrast from 0 to +10, and then continue on to
change the font selection from 16.9 cpi Courier to 18.5 cpi Courier.
Note that either of these values may be overridden by your software application. When this occurs, selecting a
different value in Setup will not change the output printed by your application. This may also apply to some
other items within the Format Menu.
1. Make sure the printer is turned off.

2. Hold the Enter Button and turn the printer on with the Power
Button. Hold the Enter Button until “Menus Active” is displayed.

3. After releasing the Enter Button, the printer will display “Entering
Setup Menus” and will then proceed to “Interface” and will display the
currently active interface on the bottom line.

4. Press the Advance Button to proceed to the “Image Management”
menu.

5. Press the Enter Button to enter Image Management. The first item
displayed is “Print Contrast” with the current value of “0”.

6. Press the Increment Button two times to advance the value to “10”.

7. Press the Enter Button to leave Print Contrast set to +10 and move to
“Default Font:”. The current value, “16.9 cpi Courier”, is be displayed.

8. Press the Increment Button two times to advance the value to “18.5
cpi Courier”.

9. Press the Advance Button until “Exit Setup Save Changes” is
displayed.

10. Press the Enter Button to exit Setup. The printer will indicate that it is
saving the changes, will perform an internal reset, and then be ready for
use with the new values that were entered.
