6.0  Troubleshooting and maintenance

This chapter contains information on tackling problems and 

on maintenance.

  WARNING

Danger to life due to electric shock!

Severe injury or death.

 

Never carry out repairs to the device yourself. Contact the 

support team. The device does not contain any parts that 

can be repaired or maintained by the user.

NOTICE

Property damage.

Any defective device must be inspected and repaired by a 

trained PROEMION service technician.

 

Do not open the device housing yourself.

6.1  Remedies

Table 37:   Problems and potential causes

Problem

Possible cause

Device does not function.

Check the power supply via the main 

plug connector.

Device does not receive 

CAN messages.

Check the CAN connection and the configuration 

of the CAN messages. Check whether the bus 

terminating resistor is correctly mounted.

Device does not receive 

GNSS signals.

Check the antenna connection and cable for 

damage. Position the antenna or the device so that 

it directly points to the sky.

Device does not receive 

mobile radio signal.

Check the antenna connection and cable for damage.

Check the eSIM configuration in the eSIM - 

Specials object dictionary. Position the antenna or 

the device so that it directly points to the sky.

Device does not log data.

Check the CAN baud rate in the configuration. 

Check in the configuration whether the 

device is in “Operational” mode. Check the 

logging configuration.

6.1.1  Support request

If you do not find the solution to your problem in this 

manual, please contact our support service. See chapter 

Service and support.
The support team requires the following information in order 

to help you.
>   Read off the following device variables:
 

Mobile - engine IMEI number

 

Mobile - network state

>  What is the condition of the STATUS LED?
 

Is the STATUS LED constant green?

 

Does the STATUS LED indicate a fault?

 

What fault status and color are displayed?

>   If the STATUS LED is constant blue, read off the following 

device variables.

 

Mobile - State Machine Error Code

 

Mobile - CMS Error Number

 

Mobile - CME Error Number

 

Mobile - SIM pin error flag

>   Read off the following security variables:
 

Mobile - Signal Quality

 

Remote server address

 

Remote server port

 

Enable encrypted data transfer

 

Online Mode Handling

 

E-SIM roaming handling

 

E-SIM operator selection mode

 

E-SIM SIM PIN

 

E-SIM operator selection code
