Shaft, Seal and Bearing Repair
The input shaft, seal and front bearing are serviceable without disassembling the entire pump.
Orient the pump on the work surface so the shaft is pointing up.
1. Remove the retaining ring (J200) using retaining pliers.
2. For 069/078, 115/130, 147/165
a) Puncture the seal (J250) and use a slide-hammer type puller to remove the seal.
b) Discard the seal.
3. For 89/100, 210/250/280
a) Using two suitable pry tools, gently pry on both sides of the shaft seal carrier shoulder until seal
clears shaft bore/seal land.
b) Press out and discard seal from carrier making note of seal orientation.
c) Discard O-ring on carrier and clean carrier for re-use.
4. Use a press or gear puller to press down on the shaft.
5. Using a snap-ring pliers, remove the inner snap-ring (J200).
6. Pull the shaft (J100) with bearing (J150) out of the pump.
If necessary, tap lightly on the shaft to dislodge it from the cylinder block.
C
Caution
Do not damage the housing bore, shaft or bearing when removing the shaft and bearing.
7. After you remove the shaft, take care not to move or jar the pump. Reassembly can be difficult if the
internal components move while the shaft is out.
8. Remove snap-ring (J300).
9. Press bearing (J150) from shaft.
