DC Input Operation

The General I/O Port provides sixteen 24 Vdc inputs. There are two groups of eight 
inputs: group A = input 1 through output 8, group B = input 9 through output 16. Each 
group can be configured as sourcing or sinking. Connect the DCSS pin (DCSS1 for 
Group A, DCSS2 for Group B) to IO24C for a sourcing configuration. Connect the 
DCSS pin (DCSS1 for Group A, DCSS2 for Group B) to +24 Vdc for a sinking 
configuration. An example of connecting input devices in both a sink and source 
configuration is shown in 

Figure 4-6

.

In addition, the first input of each Group (Input 1 of Group A, and input 9 of Group B), 
can be programmed to provide a processor interrupt on either a low-to-high or high-to-
low transition.
