Module replacement
The DAS modules are hot-pluggable and redundant. A module (or
several of them) can be replaced whilst the system is running.
For technical reasons, however, you must remember that a new
hard disk drive always must have a larger (or equal) capacity than
the old one. The decisive point is not the normally specified gross
capacity but the number of sectors used.
Contact the Dallmeier Support Team if you are in any doubt.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the RAID system and thus
loss of data.
The new hard disk drive must be larger than the
old one.
For continuous operation it is essential that all ducts on the sub-
rack are closed. This is necessary to maintain air circulation and
therefore to cool the modules.
IMPORTANT
Serious damage to the modules (particularly HDD
failure).
Keep the ducts of the sub-rack closed while in
operation.
