open the lid (when the lid is closed, the casting
process is started again).
Centrifugation time
To set the centrifugation time, at the end of which the
centrifuge is automatically stopped, press first the Auto
key (5, fig. 4), and then the melting Start one (3, fig. 4):
the light of the Centrifugation Start key starts blinking
and the light of the Auto key keeps lit. Set the wanted
time by operating the Increment and/or Decrement key
(9 e 10, fig. 4), by making reference to the time scale B
on figure 4. Finally, press the Centrifugation Start key
(6, fig. 4) and the Auto one (5, fig. 4); their associated
pilot light turns off.
Centrifuge Start
The centrifuge can be started only provided that all the
safety conditions are met and the operating cycle is run
correctly. Therefore, to start the centrifuge, follow this
procedure:
1. in the Manual mode:
- with machine set in the melting mode and after closing
the lid,
- press the Centrifugation key (6, fig. 4);
2. in the Auto mode (led of the Auto key (5, fig. 4) lit)
- the centrifuge starts immediately after the set tem-
perature holding time has elapsed. Five seconds
before the centrifugation, the Led of the Auto key (F,
fig. 4) starts blinking and a sound signal is raised. To
return to the Manual mode, simply press the Auto
key.
During the centrifugation, the lid is locked and it cannot
be opened (see also under “Lid opening”).
Centrifuge Stop
The centrifuge may be stopped in either way:
•
automatically: after a set time, the power supply to
the centrifuge motor is cut off and the centrifugation
arm coasts and stops;
•
manually: to stop the arm before an automatic stop,
press the Casting-Centrifugation Stop push-button
(8, fig. 4).
Opening of the lid
The lid may be opened only on condition the Lid locked
pilot light (H, fig. 4) is off and the machine is live. Under
this condition, simply grip the handle and pull it up.
SELECTION OF THE CRUCIBLE
To get the best results from your casting machine,
carefully apply the following guidelines.
Ceramic crucibles: C15N, C15R.
C15N: Standard crucible, standard mixture,
recommended for casting of non-precious and
CrCo alloys.
C15R: Ceramic crucible with liner suitable to insure
longer life to the crucible. Especially
recommended for non-precious alloys for
ceramic. However, its performances are excellent
also for other non-precious alloys.
The two above mentioned crucibles have to be pre-
heated for at least 5 to 10 minutes before using them,
as a rule in the same furnace where also the as-cast
flasks are heated; don’t forget to remove the slag left in
the melting crucible. No vitrification is required.
Graphite crucibles (with graphite lining).
CG5: Standard graphite crucibles appropriate for
casting of all the precious alloys suitable to be
melt in such material.
CGV5:Sintered plumbago crucibles appropriate for
casting of Palladium alloys and of all the precious
alloys. Here all the precious-alloy castings result
to be highly improved. When first using this
crucible, care for heating it slowly; to this purpose,
set the casting power rating at the lowest value
(press the key 10 - fig. 4)) until - during the metal
heating process - only one of the multifunction
Led indicators is lit (A, fig. 4), taking care of
keeping the temperature differential between
heated metal and crucible to a minimum.
Note: the introduction of parts that, because of their
shape and/or size, get stuck between the walls of the
crucible may cause its breaking.
During the heating, these parts expand and exert a
strong pressure against the walls of the crucible, thus
causing its stress decay.
We remind you that you will automatically forfeit the right
to the guarantee liding our equipment if you use thereon
crucibles which are not of our production.
In order to avoid any dispute, all of our crucibles have
been imprinted with our trademark.
WORKING PROCEDURES
In the Manual mode (Auto-key led off)
•
Switch on the machine.
•
Open the lid and balance the arm for the flask you
intend to use.
•
Rotate the arm until the light of the Coil Raise push-
button starts blinking.
•
Raise the coil by pressing the Coil Raise push-button.
•
Adjust the starting accelerqation of the centrifuge.
•
Select the wished temperature.
•
Close the lid.
•
Set the melting power level.
•
Press the melting key.
•
Wait that the metal is melted.
•
If this operation has not been carried out previously.
open the lid and place the flask on the flask holder,
in this case after the closing of the lid, it will be
