SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

.

b. Items to be checked at time of delivery

3.

SELECTING INSTALLATION SITE

CAUTION

• When moving the unit

w

hile removing it from the packing

case, be sure to lift it by the four hanger brackets. Avoid put-
ting any pressure on other parts especially the refrigerant
piping.

• If you think the humidity inside the ceiling might exceed 86°F

and RH80%, reinforce the insulation on the unit body.
Use glass

w

ool or polyethylene foam as insulation so that the

thickness is more than 1/2 in. and fits inside the ceiling open-
ing.

(1) Select an installation site where the followin

g

 condi-

tions are fulfilled and that meets with your customer’s
approval.

• Where optimum air distribution can be ensured.
• Where nothing blocks air passage.
• Where condensate can be properly drained.
• Where the ceiling is strong enough to bear the indoor

unit

w

eight.

• Where the false ceiling is not noticeably on an incline.
• Where sufficient clearance for maintenance and ser-

vice can be ensured.

(Refer to Fi

g

. 1)

• Where piping bet

w

een indoor and outdoor units is pos-

sible

w

ithin the allo

w

able limit. Refer to the installation

manual for the outdoor unit.

• Select the *H dimension such that a do

w

n

w

ard slope of

at least 1/100 is ensured as indicated in

Section

7.

DRAIN PIPING WORK

• The maintenance space marked

w

ith an asterisk is

re

q

uired

w

hen the installation box for adaptor PC board

(KRP1B101) sold separately is used.

[ PRECAUTION ]

• Install the indoor and outdoor units, po

w

er supply

w

iring

and connecting

w

ires at least 3.3  feet a

w

ay from tele-

visions or radios in order to prevent image interference
or noise.  Depending on the radio

w

aves, a distance of

3.3 feet may not be sufficient enough to eliminate the
noise.

• If installing the

w

ireless kit in a room

w

ith electronic flu-

orescent lighting, the remote controller’s transmission
distance may be shortened. Indoor units should be
installed as far a

w

ay from fluorescent lighting as possi-

ble.

DANGER

• Do not install unit in an area

w

here flammable materials are

present due to the risk explosion resulting in serious injury
or death.

Items to be checked

If not properly done,

w

hat

is likely to occur

Check

Are the indoor and out-
door unit fixed firmly?

Units may drop, vibrate or
make noise.

Is the gas leak test fin-
ished?

 Insufficient cooling.

Is the unit fully insulated?

Condensate may drip.

Does drainage flo

w

smoothly?

Condensate may drip.

Does the po

w

er supply

voltage correspond to that
sho

w

n on the name

plate?

The unit may malfunction
or the components burn
out.

Are

w

iring and piping cor-

rect?

The unit may malfunction
or the components burn
out.

Is the unit safely
grounded?

Incomplete grounding may
result in electric shocks.

Is

w

iring size according to

specifications?

The unit may malfunction
or the components burn
out.

Is something blocking the
air outlet or inlet of either
the indoor or outdoor
units?

 Insufficient cooling.

Are refrigerant piping
length and additional
refrigerant charge noted
do

w

n?

The refrigerant charge in
the system is not clear.
