property.

DANGER

• Refri

g

erant

g

as is heavier than air and displaces oxy-

g

en. A massive leak could  lead to oxy

g

en depletion,

especially in basements, and an asphyxiation hazard
could occur leadin

g

 to serious injury or death.

• Do not install unit in an area where flammable materi-

als are present as this can cause risk of explosion
resultin

g

 in serious injury or death.

• If the refri

g

erant

g

as leaks durin

g

 installation, ventilate

the area immediately.

Refrigerant gas may produce toxic gas if it comes in contact

w

ith fire such as from a fan heater, stove, or cooking device.

Exposure to this gas could cause severe injury or death.

• Any abnormalities in the operation of the air condi-

tioner such as smoke or fire could result in severe
injury or death.

Turn off the po

w

er and contact your dealer immediately for

instructions.

• If  e

a burner is used in the same

room as the air conditioner, there is the dan

g

er of oxy-

g

en deficiency which could lead to an asphyxiation

hazard resultin

g

in serious injury or death. Be sure to

ventilate the room sufficiently to avoid this hazard.

• After completin

g

the installation work, check that the

refri

g

erant

g

as does not leak.

Refrigerant gas may produce toxic gas if it comes in contact

w

ith fire such as from a fan, heater, stove, or cooking

device. Exposure to this gas could cause severe injury or
death.

•  Do not

g

round unit to water pipes. Do not

g

round unit to

g

as pipes because a

g

as leak could result in an explo-

sion which could lead to severe injury or death.

• Do not

g

round the unit to telephone wires or li

htnin

g

rods as li

g

htnin

g

strikes could cause a severe shock

hazard resultin

g

installation work. Do not try to install the machine by
yourself.

Improper installation may result in

w

ater leakage, electric

shocks, or fire.

• Perform installation work in accordance with this

installation manual.

Improper installation may result in

w

ater leakage, electric

shocks, or fire.

• Be sure to use only the specified accessories and

parts for installation work.

Failure to use the specified parts may result in

w

ater leak-

age, electric shocks, fire, or the unit falling.

• Install the air conditioner on a foundation stron

g

enou

g

h to withstand the wei

g

ht of the unit.

A foundation of insufficient strength may result in the e

er supply capacity or improper electrical

construction may lead to electric shocks or fire.

• Continually check the unit stand for dama

g

e.

If left in a

damaged condition, the unit may fall and cause injury

.

• Do not touch the air outlet or the horizontal flaps while
