MAINTENANCE
NOTE
• Do not remove the air filter except when cleaning, which may
cause malfunction.
(An air filter is not equipped on this unit as a standard acces-
sory.)
MAINTENANCE (FOR SERVICE PERSONNEL)
ONLY A QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSON IS ALLOWED TO
PERFORM MAINTENANCE.
CAUTION
• Before obtaining access to terminal devices, all power supply
circuits must be interrupted.
• To clean the air conditioner, be sure to stop operation, and
turn the power switch off. Otherwise, an electric shock and
injury may result.
• Do not wash the air conditioner with water.
Doing so may result in an electric shock.
• Be careful with a scaffold of staging.
Caution must be exercised because of work at a high place.
ADJUSTING THE FAN BELT
• The fan belt must be checked regularly and replaced when
needed.
• Specialized techniques are required for inspecting the unit, so
contact your dealer.
* Checking the Fan Belt:
(1) Shut off the power source (for both the indoor and outdoor
unit).
(2) Turn the breaker in the control box off.
(3) Remove the service lid.
The fan belt should be visible.
(4) The V-belt tension should be set so that the flexure load is
within the following range at the appropriate flexure
amount (4 mm).
Note: Adjust to the appropriate tension shown in the
above figure after giving the belt between 24 and 28 hours
of operation to get used to the pulley.
(5) If the number of hours a day the unit is operated is high,
the belt should be checked not just at the beginning of the
season but after around 2000 hours of operation (i.e.,
every three or four months for 24-hours-a-day operation).
(6) Be sure to turn the breaker in the control box back on after
checking the belt.
NOTE
• Do not use gasoline, benzene, thinner, polishing powder, liq-
uid insecticide. It may cause discoloring or warping.
• Do not let the indoor unit get wet. It may cause short circuit,
electric shock or fire.
HOW TO CLEAN THE AIR OUTLET:
• Clean in accordance with the outlet vent specifications.

NOTE)
Heat exchanger cleaning is required in case product is used in factory or kitchen. Dirty heat exchanger may cause functional decline
or water leakage. Ask your Daikin dealer for the details.
CAUTION
• To clean the air conditioner, stop operation, and
switch off the power.
Otherwise, an electric shock may result.
• Do not wash the air conditioner with water.

• Be careful of your footing.
Caution must be taken since you must work at an
elevated spot.

CAUTION
• Removing the air filter except when cleaning the air conditioner
may result in accidents.
• Just before the cold or hot season, be sure to clean up the air
filter. (Dirt and dust caught in the air filter can cause a drop in air
flow, which then lead to a decline in performance)
• Clean the filter more often when the unit is used in a very dusty
place.
CAUTION
• Do not use hot water of 50˚C or higher, as doing so may result in
dislocation or deformation.
• Never dry the filter by direct firing. Doing so may result in burning.
Cleaning the air filter
Use a vacuum cleaner (A) or wash the air filter (B) to remove
dust and trash.
(A) Remove dust and trash using a vacuum cleaner.
(B)
Wash it with water.
When the air filter is very dirty, use a soft brush and neutral
detergent.
Dewater and dry in the shade.

Air filter is field provided. The above maintenance method is a common example, please follow operation manual of the air filter for the details.
