download
Purpose
Used to download and install new firmware or a Switch configuration file from a
TFTP server.
Syntax
download [firmware_fromTFTP <ipaddr> <path_filename 64> {image_id <1-
2>} | config <ipaddr> <path_filename 64> {<config_id 1-2> | increment}]
Description
This command is used to download a new firmware or a Switch configuration file
from a TFTP server.
Parameters
firmware_fromTFTP
−
Download and install new firmware on the Switch from a
TFTP server.
image_id
- Specifies the image index ID number of the firmware in the Switch’s
memory. The Switch can store 2 firmware images for use. Image ID 1 will be the
default boot up firmware for the Switch unless otherwise configured by the user.
config
−
Download a switch configuration file from a TFTP server.
<ipaddr>
−
The IP address of the TFTP server.
<path_filename 64>
−
The DOS path and filename of the firmware or switch
configuration file on the TFTP server. For example, C:\dgs3427.had.
config_id <int 1-2>
- The Switch can hold two configuraion files specified by
section ID. If no config_id is specified, the configuration being downloaded is
applied to the system. If a config_id is specified, the configuration being
downloaded is saved only to flash memory in the chosen section (1 or 2) and will
not be applied to the system. Keep in mind that config_id 1 is the boot up
configuration unless this is changed using the config configuration command.
increment
−
Allows the download of a partial switch configuration file. This allows
a file to be downloaded that will change only the switch parameters explicitly
stated in the configuration file. All other switch parameters will remain unchanged.
Restrictions Only
administrator-level users can issue this command.
