DSL-302G ADSL Modem User’s Guide
Configuring the Modem for a Bridged or an IPoA Connection
Bridge Mode
When your DSL-302G ADSL modem operates in Bridge mode (EoA), it only handles the transfer of data
between your ADSL service provider and your computer. Your computer will need to have software installed
that will allow it to “accept” the ADSL connection, and your ADSL service provider will need to provide you
with this software, along with instructions about how to install the software and configure your computer for the
ADSL connection.
IPoA Mode
If your ADSL service provider is using the Internet Protocol over ATM (IPoA), you will need to configure your
DSL-302G modem to use this protocol. The configuration steps are nearly the same as the steps required to
configure the modem for Bridge mode. Follow the steps below, and watch for the
IPoA
heading.
Configuring the DSL-302G for a Bridged (EoA) or IPoA ADSL Connection
The DSL-302G ADSL modem is shipped from the factory with PPPoA as the default operating mode. To ensure
that the DSL-302G configuration is set to it’s factory default settings, you should reboot the modem using the
Reboot from Default Configuration
option. Click on the
Admin
folder and then click the
Save & Reboot
link. This will open the
Save & Reboot
menu, as shown below.
Choose
Reboot from Default Configuration
from the
Reboot Mode:
drop-down menu and then click the
Reboot
button.
Once the modem reboots, click the
Refresh
button on your Web browser. When the modem’s configuration
manager reappears, open the
Bridging
folder and click on the
ATM VCC
link. This will open the
ATM VC
Configuration
menu, as shown below.
