Introduction to chemical resistance
This section gives some general guidelines concerning chemical resistance for
Adjustable Oligo Column components. Regarding exposure to solutions not covered
by these guidelines, contact your Cytiva representative for recommendations.
Materials
The materials used in the construction of Adjustable Oligo Column are compatible
with, and resistant to chemical reagents commonly used in oligonucleotide synthesis.
Note:
The column material is not compatible with tetrahydrofurane, THF.
The wetted parts are manufactured from materials having very high chemical
resistance. The product’s wetted parts are manufactured from:
•
fluoroplastic
•
borosilicate glass
•
polypropylene
•
polyethylene
•
ETFE
•
titanium
Chemicals
The information in the table below has been compiled from published material from
several sources, not from individual tests on the components of the column. It should
be noted that the effects of a chemical will be more severe at higher temperatures and
pressures, and that combined effects have not been taken into consideration.
Concentrations are expressed as % volume of saturated solution unless otherwise
stated. Adjustable Oligo Column can be expected to be resistant to the chemicals
listed below.
