Building and Installation Work
All work carried out must meet all relevant Local and National Regulations.
A CORGI Registered person must carry out all gas work and can only be
commissioned by a CORGI Registered person.
Building work
Building work should only commence after a thorough survey of the intended
location and that it has been established that the unit can be installed and
operated without risk to the owner or tenants of the property or their neighbours.
Installation Procedures
It is important that any existing gas supply is checked and must meet regulations
before installation.
If there is an existing chimney in the room then the opening must be sealed up.
The Flueless Fire Pod is designed to fit into a recessed opening this can be
constructed by brick, stone or timber frame to Local and National Regulations.
The opening must be constructed using heat resistant materials.
The unit is to be placed into a non-combustible opening of minimum 12mm
thickness. The surface on which the appliance is to be mounted must be flat,
level and square to the recessed panel. Be aware of the type of wall coverings,
as some wall coverings are more prone to discolour than others.
Care must be taken to the route of the gas and electrics taking note of where the
fixing screws for the recessed plate.
NOTE – The gas is to be routed to the left side of the unit with the electrics to the
right side. This is to come in through the back of the recessed plate shown
below.
