5.4 Descending
1. Open the kit bag to access Smartline X.
2. Place the anchor sling around a structure and into the karabiner fig 1:A . NOTE: The
structure must be able to take a load of 12 kN.
If the anchor sling is placed around a vertical construction, detach the sling and place
it twice around the pole and through itself again. Then attach the karabiner as shown
in
fig.1:B . Ensure that the anchor sling locks in place. Fig.1:C show how to attach the
karabiner to a fixed structural anchor EN795 cl.A.
3. Attach the descender to a front attachment point of the harness fig 2 – (low
EN813 attachment point on the harness is recommended) with the karabiner.
Ensure that both karabiners locked off completely.
