6.  MAINTENANCE,  STORAGE  AND  PERIODIC  INSPECTION  

6.1  Storage  

The  

Smartline  X  

must  not  be  exposed  to  chemicals  or  stored  together  with  chemicals.  It  

shall  be  protected  from  strong  heat,  UV  light,  light,  high  humidity,  sharp  edges  or  other  
influences  that  can  affect  the  security  of  the  equipment.  

  

6.2  Maintenance  

As  the  

Smartline  X  

is  designed  for  single  use  only,  there  is  no  need  for  maintenance.    

If  there  are  concerns  about  humidity  in  the  bag  or  possible  damage  to  the  equipment,  it  
must  be  inspected  according  to  section  4.  All  reparations  or  alterations  have  to  be  
done  by  a  body  approved  by  the  manufacturer.  

Warning

:  If  the  equipment  becomes  wet,  it  is  allowed  to  dry  naturally,  not  by  direct  

heat  or  UV-­light.      

  

6.3  Transport  

During  transport  the  

Smartline  X  

must  not  be  exposed  to  sharp  items,  chemicals,  UV-­  

light,  or  other  influences  that  may  cause  damage.  It  must  also  be  protected  against  falls,  
crush  and  shock  damages.  

  

6.4  Inspection  of  equipment  

Personal  inspection  before  use  is  described  in  section  4.  

The  

Smartline  X  

has  to  undergo  periodic  inspection  by  a  competent  person  at  least  

once  every  12  months.  This  person  must  be  familiar  with  inspecting  all  the  components  
in  the  set,  and  must  know  in  detail  how  the  set  works.  

The  set  must  always  be  opened  during  periodic  inspection.  Repairs  and  replacement  of  
parts  can  only  be  done  by  

CRESTO  AB

Warning

:  The  need  for  regular  periodic  examinations,  and  that  the  safety  of  users  depends  

upon  the  continued  efficiency  and  durability  of  the  equipment  

The  equipment  log  on  the  last  page  must  be  updated  with  all  periodic  inspections,  
service  and  repairs  and  other  matters  concerning  the  safe  use  of  the  equipment,  if  the  

CRESTO  INSPECTOR  

data  base  is  not  utilized.  

The  Smartline  X  is  equipped  with  a  RIFD  chip  connecting  it  to  the  

CRESTO  

INSPECTOR  

for  easy  track  and  trace  of  units  and  service.  

The  RFID  is  located  in  the  marking  label  see  section  8.  

  

6.4.1  Inspection  criteria  

  

  

Aborber:  

check  for  deployment,  material  and  stitching  for  damage  including  cuts,  nicks,  

abrasion,  fraying,  discolorations,  heat  or  chemical  damage  and  moisture

  

  

Connectors:

  gate  function,  abrasion,  deformation,  corrosion,  cracks  and  nicks

  

  

Device:

  seal  is  intact,  abrasion,  deformation,  cracks,  nicks  and  corrosion

  

  

Rope:

  for  loops  in  the  material,  damage,  cuts,  tears,  signs  of  chemicals  and  UV  

degradations,  discolorations,  heat  damage,  and  moisture

  

  

Marking:

  Legibility  of  marking,  serial  no.,  date  of  manufacturing
