2.5.2 Electrical
Connections
The locations of the connectors referred to in this section are shown in Figure 2-1. Electrical
interconnections to the system consist of prime power, ground strap, and external connections
including computer interface (CIF), remote control, switch interface, and user interlocks, if
applicable. The auxiliary serial port is used for Flash RAM programming and is connected only
during programming.

2.5.3 Prime
Power
Caution: The equipment provided is intended for an industrial
environment, connected through a separate distribution transformer, and is
not to be connected to a public low voltage distribution system.
The prime power requirement for the equipment is nominal 208-240 VAC, 47-63 Hz, between
Pin A and Pin B. The wiring used for applying prime power to the system should be sized for
the appropriate current, and insulated as determined by the prime power input voltage. Both
local and/or national electrical codes must be met. This often means over current and overload
protection of all live phases of electrical power is required. (See Specifications in the “Drawings
& Schematics” Chapter 7.)
Prime power is applied to connector J1 located on the rear panel of the CHPA. The prime
power mating connector supplied in the ship kit is to be used to fabricate the prime power
cable. The wiring used should be HAR type.
