STEP OPERATION REFERENCE
s Move the tractor forwards and operate the hydraulic
OPEN/CLOSE controls to open (and close) the shutter
on the metering device.
The distributor feeds the product onto the spreader
disc, where it is released outwards by the distributor
blades due to centrifugal force.

s Do a test spreading run and check the quantity of product spread before continuing.
The quantity distributed depends on travel speed, distribution radius, fertilizer quality and moisture, and how rough
the terrain is.

Travel speed of the tractor needs to be established before starting spreading, and where possible should be
kept constant throughout operation: when spreading, keep a constant forward travel speed, as specified in the
SPREADING TABLES .
The
SPREADING TABLES
provide general information on determining the quantity to be spread in the field: this is
then enhanced based on the operator’s experience and expertise.
After finishing work:

s Disengage the PTO with the tractor engine at low
rpm.
