4.3.8 Calibration and Automatic bed-leveling (ABL)
If you are satisfied with the selected settings, press Print on the top bar of the window.
Make sure the correct device is selected and press OK to continue.
Press Calibrate to calibrate the printhead.
There are three calibration options: Automatic calibration, Automatic bed-leveling (ABL), and Manual calibration.
• Automatic calibration is the most versatile calibration method. Corning recommends using Automatic calibration in most cases. To
perform automatic calibration, press the Automatic calibration button, and follow the instructions on the screen.
• Automatic bed-leveling probes the bed at three points to enable bed-leveling compensation. It uses a matrix to compensate for tilt in
the bed or print surface. Corning recommends using Automatic bed-leveling if the layer height is visually different on one side of the
bed than on the other side when inspecting a 3D printed construct. Automatic bed-leveling will initially appear disabled and is only
enabled after automatic or manual calibration is performed.
• To perform the manual calibration, press the Manual calibration button, and navigate the manual calibration settings to calibrate the
printhead. Using the buttons on the screen, place the nozzle as close to the printing surface as possible without the nozzle touching the
surface. Corning recommends using Manual calibration to adjust position in X and Y axes or when dispensing droplets in 96- and 384-
well microplates.
