The PWs are yarn guide winders that are used to obtain tapered cones on both sides.
The following table provides the maximum and minimum diameters that can be obtained
for every degree of taper.
To change the taper degrees, operate on the devices shown in the figures.
Holes from no. 1 (minimum taper) to no. 5 (maximum taper)
Lower slot position (minimum taper) upper slot position (maximum taper). To prevent the
winding from continuing beyond the diameters pre-set by the taper degree, it is recom-
mended to set the safety microswitch in a position that stops the winding just before it
reaches the diameter limit.
To do this, loosen the screw that fastens the safety microswitch to the head side, see figure
to the side, and turn it so it is coincides with the magnet, which is solidly connected to the
arm, when it reaches the diameter limit.
To prevent the winding from continuing beyond the diameters pre-set by the taper degree,
it is recommended to set the safety microswitch in a position that stops the winding just
before it reaches the diameter limit.
This operation is necessary in order to prevent the yarn guide from striking the head during
reversal.
For the setting, proceed as follows:
Position the yarn guide 1 fig.7 to the far right or left end of its travel, lift the arm until the
yarn guide strikes against the edge of the head. Keeping the arm in this position, turn the
microswitch so it faces the magnet. To do so, loosen the screw that locks the bracket.
Carry out a test at the minimum speed. The head must stop before the yarn guide strikes
the walls.
If, when lifting the arm manually, the yarn guide strikes against the head before stopping,
change the calibration of the microswitch.
