BITRATE [n]
This command adjusts the bit rate (in kbits/sec) of the encoded MPEG-2 video. This sets the
maximum rate of MPEG-2 Program stream and the actual bit rate of an MPEG-2 Transport stream. If
audio is in the MPEG-2 stream, then an additional 256 kbits/sec will be added to the rate set by this
command.
Default: The default is set by the Profile command
Example Command:
BITRATE 2000
(Sets max bit rate to 2 Mbits/sec)
Notes:
1)
This command should be issued AFTER the Profile command if the Profile command is used.
2)
MPEG Transport Streams are constant bit rate. MPEG-2 Program streams are variable bit rate
with an average bit rate at or below the specified bit rate.
FTP Commands
These commands set up the encoder to connect to the FTP server where the JPEG pictures will be
stored. The FTP server may be any computer on the network with available storage space for the
transactions. Remember the JPEG pictures are taken in a time lock step process. Once set up, the pictures
will arrive at the server in the time frame setup in the configuration (ftpperiod). Be aware of the space
needed and the incoming stream length.
