4.6 Reviewing Alarms
An alarm review menu records a list of up to 50 of the most recent patient and technical alarm
messages with date and time information.
Select the alarm review key in the message window to open this menu.
Each page displays 10 alarm records. The page mark “1/5” informs you that there are five pages and
the present one is page one (1).
To review more records, select the alarm list and then rotate
the control knob or touch the
/
symbol to switch to
the previous or next page.
Select
OK
to exit from this menu.
When a new monitoring starts, or after the monitor is
switched off, the alarm messages will be cleared.
4.7 Alarm Treatment Measures
When the F9 Monitor gives out an alarm, you should:
- Check the patient’s condition.
- Identify the cause of the alarm.
- Silence the alarm if necessary.
- Check if the alarm is terminated when the alarm condition is cleared.
4.8 Testing Alarms
To test the functions of visible and audible alarms, do the following:
1) Switch on the monitor.
2) Enable the alarm.
3) Set the alarm limits to a narrow range.
4) Simulate a signal that is higher than the upper limit or lower than the lower limit. Or
disconnect one of the plugs.
5) Verify if the visible and audible alarms are working properly.
