INSTALLATION
Depending on the working environment where the light curtain or ac-
cess control barrier is to be installed, various factors must be taken into
consideration, such as reflective surfaces neighboring the safety device
or other safety devices that may potentially cause interference. Other
basic safety installation rules include preventing access to the point of
hazard through the correct positioning of the protective screen.
Installation of Safetinex protective devices involves the following steps:

Calculation of the minimum safety distance
–
Mounting the sender and receiver units
–
Connecting the light curtain or access control barrier
–
Aligning the units
–
Performing tests before initial commissioning
MINIMUM SAFETY DISTANCE
The distance between the protective field and the hazardous area must
be calculated with great care and in compliance with strict regulations.
Since these regulations differ slightly, depending on the country where
the safety system is operated, please refer to the relevant preceding
chapters and the applicable standards for details.
