e) Rechargeable Battery Programme „BREAK-IN“
This rechargeable battery programme serves formatting of new rechargeable batteries
or activation of rechargeable batteries that were stored for more than 3 months.
For this, the rechargeable battery is first charged with a low charge current (0.1C).
After a break of one hour, the discharge process starts (0.2C).
Last, the rechargeable battery is charged with a low charge current (0.1C).
After insertion of the rechargeable battery into one of the 4 charging chutes, chose the rechargeable
battery programme „BREAK-IN“ with „
2
“ or „
8
“, then push the button „ENTER“.
At the top of the display, the battery capacity lashes. Set them with the button „
2
“ or „
8
“ (the
rechargeable battery capacity is printed onto the rechargeable battery).
After confirmation with „ENTER“ (or if no button is pushed for more than 5 seconds), the rechar

geable battery program commences.
The display alternatingly shows the rechargeable battery voltage in volt („DisCharge Volt“), the
charging or discharging unit in mA („ChargeRate“ or „DisChargeRate“, depending on whether
the battery is being charged or discharged), the elapsed charging or discharging term in hours/
minutes („Charge Time“ or „DisCharge Time“) and the charged or discharged energy in mAh
(„Charge Capacity“ or „DisCharge Capacity“).
After the end of the rechargeable battery programme, „DONE“ appears in the display. The
energy charged in the rechargeable battery, the charging duration and cell voltage are displayed
alternatingly.
The rechargeable battery can now be taken from the charger.
If the rechargeable batters remains in the charger, the charger switches to maintenance
mode. The rechargeable battery is charged with a very low current (about 30 mA) to
maintain the full charge condition.
