Inserting/removing the SD card
The camera cannot be operated without a microSD card inserted.
Insert a microSD card with sufficient storage space into the microSD card slot (7). Ensure the card‘s interfaces
point towards the lens (4) and that the card engages. To remove the card push the card inwards as far as it will go
to unlock it. Remove the card.
Charging the battery
1. Charge the battery completely before using the camera for the first time.
2. Connect the USB cable’s Mini-USB plug to the Mini-USB port (9). Connect the USB-B plug to a free USB port
on your computer.
3. The battery will automatically charge and the battery indicator (10) will flash slowly.
4. When the battery is fully charged, the battery indicator will light up continuously.
5. Unplug the USB cable from the camera.
When the camera is inactive for 15 seconds in standby mode, it will turn off automatically to preserve
energy.
A fully charged battery lets you record videos for approx. 2 hours.
Switching on/off
1. Remove the protective film from the camera lens.
2. Press the on/off button (13) to turn the camera on.
3. After approx. 3 seconds the LED status indicator (5) lights up and thus shows its readiness.

With the time stamp you set the date and time for recordings. For setting the time stamp you will require a text editor
available on any standard computer system. The time stamp only has to be set at the first use.
1. Connect the USB cable with the Mini-USB port (9) and a USB port on your computer.
2. The computer recognises the camera as an external drive. If drivers need to be installed for this, follow the
instructions of your computer.
3. Open the text editor of your computer (such as Notepad with Windows® or TextEdit with Macintosh).
4. Open a new file and save it on the microSD card of the connected camera applying the following specifications:
-
File name: “TIMESET.txt”
-
File format: “.txt” (text format, without formatting)
-
Has to be located in the root directory, speak outside the “DCIM” folder.
5. In the open file, input the date and time. Observe the following format:
-
YYYY MM DD HH MM SS (year, month, day, hours, minutes, seconds),
-
e.g. 2012 12 10 14 10 15 (10 December 2012, 2:10:15 p.m.)
6. Save and close the file.
7. When turning the camera on next time, the time stamp will be imported and the saved file automatically removed.
8. Date and time are indicated in recorded photos and videos as follows:
-
Photos: e.g. 2012/12/10 15:30
-
Video: e.g. 2012/12/11 14:35:10
8. Operating the camera
Recording videos and photos requires sufficient storage space. Note the storage space requirements
for videos and photos:
• Video: 1.65 GB for 30 minutes (D1), 3.4 GB for 30 minutes (HD)
• Photo: approx. 400 KB per photo
Snapshot function
1. Press the snapshot button (11) to record a picture. The LED status indicator flashes once.
2. The photo will be automatically saved to the microSD card and can be read from the microSD card at a later
point in time.
Photos have the file extension “.jpg”.
When the microSD card is full, the LED status indicator flashes quickly.
Mounting accessories
Recording video with audio
1. Set the video quality using the D1/HD switch (6). Slide the switch to HD position to record high resolution
(1280 x 720 Pixel) video, to D1 for normal quality (848 x 480 pixels).
2. Press the video button (12) to start the recording. The LED status indicator flashes slowly. The video will be
automatically saved to the microSD card and can be read from the microSD card at a later point in time. The
maximum recording length is 30 minutes for each video. Subsequently, the camera will start a new file.
3. Press the video button to stop the recording.
