The "SEL/Edit" (11, 34), and "SEL" (34) buttons to activate the motion detection area (the area
appears as transparent) or to deactivate the are (the area is shaded). If the detection area is deacti-
vated then no motion is detected.

The "REW" (1, 30), and "FWD" buttons (4, 36) allow you to move the area to be motion detected to
the left and to the right.
13.11 "VIDEO MODE" Menu Setting
This option allows you to select the NTSC or PAL video mode.

The factory setting for 4 Channel Digital Recorder is PAL.
This is the usual setting for Europe/Australia.
13.12 "FACTORY RESET" Menu Option
This allows you to reset the 4 Channel Digital Recorder to the factory settings (RESET).
Select this option to reset all device settings to the factory settings. Once this option is selected the 4
Channel Digital Recorder restarts. This will reset all user settings (including the password) to the factory
setting.

If you have forgotten your password and would like to simply reset the password to
the factory setting, simply press the "Pause" button (2, 39) 10 times while no record-
ing is being made and you are in the main screen view. The 4 Channel Digital
Recorder then restarts and the password is reset to the factory setting.
The factory password is entered by pressing the "CH1" button 6 times (12, 26).

If it is not possible for you to stop the current recording, because you have forgotten
the password, then switch the 4 Channel Digital Recorder off using the "ON/OFF"
switch (24). Then disconnect the mains power supply from the 4 Channel Digital
Recorder. Remove the installed hard drive. Reconnect the mains power supply from
the 4 Channel Digital Recorder. Switch back on the 4 Channel Digital Recorder using
the "ON/OFF" switch (24). Wait until the main screen appears and press the "Pause"
button (2, 39) 10 times.
The 4 Channel Digital Recorder then restarts and the password is reset to the facto-
ry setting.
The factory password is entered by pressing the "CH1" button 6 times (12, 26).
