Troubleshooting
By purchasing this system, you have acquired a product that has been designed to the state of
the art and is operationally reliable. Nevertheless, problems or faults may occur. If the solar
island is not functioning properly please refer to the following information:

Maintenance and cleaning
To ensure that the solar island continues to function perfectly it has to be cleaned at regular
intervals (once a month). However, depending on how dirty the pond water is it may be
necessary to clean the solar island more often (e.g. once a week).
For this purpose, proceed as follows:
• Take the solar island out of the water.
• Remove the „filter cover“ (4) and „fountain adapter“ (2) and clean them thoroughly under clean,
tepid, running water.
• In order to clean the impeller (situated under the „impeller cover“ (5)), remove the „impeller
cover“ (5) by removing the fixing screws. Clean the impeller with clean, tepid water and a
brush. Put the cover back on the impeller housing. Re-attach the „impeller cover“ (5) and screw
the fixing screws tight.
• Re-attach the „filter cover“ (4). Make sure that the filter housing is sitting properly, otherwise
dirt can get in and the unit will have to be cleaned again after a very short period.
• Run the solar island for about 5 minutes using clean, tepid tap water. This will loosen the
remaining deposits on the inside.
• Take the desired „fountain adapter“ (2) and attach it to the „nozzle“ (3).
• The casing of the solar island and the solar cells should be cleaned on the outside only using
a dry cloth, or a soft, slightly damp cloth.
• Only if the solar cells are clean will they deliver their full capacity to the pump.
☞
On no account should you use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical
solutions, as these can corrode the housing.
If you do not require the solar island for a longer period or wish to store it over winter, we
recommend cleaning it and keeping it in a dry, frostproof, dark room. Please refer also to the
information provided in the section „Storage“ below.
More extensive maintenance or repairs may only be carried out by a specialist or a specialist
workshop. Except to perform the procedures described above, the housing should never be
opened. Opening the housing will void your warranty claim and can damage the unit.
Storage
Remove the „fountain adapter“ (2) from the solar island. Make sure that the residual water can
flow out of the solar island. Allow the solar island to dry. Store the solar island in a secure, frost-
proof, dry and dark room at a moderate temperature. The solar island must not be operated
without water as this will damage it. To prevent this, the solar island may only be exposed to
direct sunlight if it is not placed in water.
Disposal
When disposing of an unserviceable product, do so in line with the relevant
statutory regulations.
