Cleaning

Always disconnect the device from the mains supply before cleaning.

Pull the plug out of the mains socket.

•  Allow the device to cool down before cleaning.
•  Never clean the kettle or the base by immersing them in liquids such as water.
•  Never use any aggressive, abrasive cleaning agents, abrasive wire brushes or abrasive

objects for cleaning.

•  Rinse the water tank with clean water and wipe it dry with a cloth.
•  You can use a damp cloth to wipe the outside of the device.
•  The pouring opening features a filter that can be removed for cleaning. To remove the filter,

open the lid of the kettle. Gently push a small nose of the filter backwards towards the handle

and then remove the filter.

•  Rinse the filter under running water and put it back in the device. Stubborn dirt can also be

removed with a small nylon brush (toothbrush).

Descaling

The device requires periodical descaling. Everything depends on water hardness and frequen-

cy of use of the device.
•  Descaling is necessary if the device is switched off before the water boils.
•  Use a commercially available descaling agent for descaling and dose it as per the instruc-

tions.

•  Do not use vinegar!

Troubleshooting

Device switches off before the water boils:
•  The bottom of the kettle is heavily calcified and needs to be descaled.
•  There is not enough water in the tank.
Dirty water in the kettle when pouring out:
•  The filter on the spout is dirty and needs to be cleaned.
Device does not switch off:
•  The lid is not closed.
•  The device is defect.
The socket fuse trips:
•  The power circuit is overloaded. Check whether other consumers with high power consump-

tion such as coffee machine (in operation) are connected to this power circuit.
