Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance-free. Any repair should be carried out by a specialist workshop.
Clean the solar panel occasionally only using a soft, clean cloth. Do not press too strongly as
this may cause scratches or other damage.
The LED light must be switched off before cleaning (switch position “O”).
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions since these might damage the
surface of the casing or impair the operation.
Disposal
a) In general
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
Remove the lead acid battery from the LED light before disposal and dispose of it separately
from other parts of the product.
To do this, remove the four screws on the rear of the LED light. The back can then be removed
carefully from the LED light.
Disconnect both
fl
at-pin plugs from the lead acid battery. Cover the contact tabs on the battery
with insulation tape, so they are completely covered.
Caution!
Short-circuiting the battery contacts can cause an explosion or
fi
re!
Loosen both screws on the retaining bracket holding the lead acid battery. The lead acid battery
can then be removed.
Finally, replace the retaining bracket and close the casing of the LED light. The lead acid bat-
tery and the LED light can now be disposed of separately.
b) Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/
rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for the rel-
evant heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can dispose of your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at your commu-
nity’s collection point or any place where batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thus ful
fi
l the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
