fi

 ca-

tion of the product are not permitted. Never dismantle the product.

• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children!

•  The product can be installed both indoors (with adequate sunlight on the solar

panel) or outdoors. The product is protected according to IP44.

• Attention, LED light:

Do not look directly into the LED light!

Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!

•  The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or

heavy mechanical stress.

•  Do not leave the packing material laying around, as it can be a dangerous play-

thing for children! Danger of suffocation!

General Notes about Batteries

•   Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Install and use the product out of the reach of

children.

•  Make sure that the rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, opened, taken apart or

thrown into a

fi

re. There is a risk of

fi

 re and explosion!

•   Old rechargeable batteries can leak liquid chemicals that may damage the device.
•   If your skin comes into contact with leaking or damaged batteries, you may suffer burns. For

this reason you should use suitable protective gloves.

PIR sensor features

The PIR motion detector responds to temperature changes within the detection range, e.g.
if a person, an animal or a car with a different temperature to the detection area enters the
detection area.
To ensure the optimum motion detection, the PIR motion detector should be placed so that the
object to be detected does not approach the PIR motion detector directly but passes through
the detection area from left to right or vice versa. Keep this in mind, when installing the product.
The range for detecting motion is determined by several factors
•  Mounting height of the PIR motion detector
•   Temperature difference between the moving object and the background (ambient)
•  The size of the object
•  The distance of the object from the PIR motion detector
•  Direction and speed of the movement
• Ambient temperature
After turning on at the switch on the LED light, it takes about 60 seconds until the sensor inside
the PIR motion detector has adjusted to the background temperature and is able to recognise
changes in temperature within the detection area.
The detection range (120° horizontal, approx. 90° vertical) can be restricted by attaching
opaque adhesive tape (e.g. insulation tape) to the PIR motion detector’s diffusion panel.

Description of the controls on the PIR motion detector

•  Setting the on-time, rotary knob “TIME”

Using this control, you can set the duration for the on-time. Turning the control dial counter

clockwise, to the left, shortens the on-time, turning it to the right lengthens it. It is possible to
set a time between 5 seconds and 5 minutes.

If motion is detected during the on-time, the on-time starts again.

•  Setting the brightness, rotary knob “LUX”

Using this rotary knob, the switching threshold for the ambient brightness needed to activate

the PIR motion detector can be set (adjustment range 5 - 200 lux).

Turning the dial counter clockwise to the left, in direction of the moon symbol, means the

PIR motion detector activates when it is darker, turning it to the right, in direction of the sun
symbol, activates the motion detector in brighter conditions.

•  Setting the sensitivity, rotary knob “SENS”

This rotary knob is used to set the heat change that activates the LED light.
On turning it to the left, the PIR motion detector will activate even for relatively small changes

in temperature; turn it to the right, and it will only activate for greater changes in temperature.

Installation

The long connection cables allow for the optimal positioning of the LED light, solar

panel and PIR motion detector. Before

fi

 xing

fi

rmly, check whether the cable lengths

are suf

fi

cient for the intended installation location.

To operate the product, it is necessary that the solar panel points in the direction of
the sun. Only then can the rechargeable battery be suf

fi

 ciently charged.

In the shade (e.g. trees) or with too little sunlight, e.g. in winter (no sunshine or snow
on the solar panel), the result will be that the LED only lights up with reduced bright-
ness (or not at all).

 Important!

For installation, screws, wall plugs and (if necessary) spacers suitable for the sur-
face are essential. These are not enclosed.

Pay attention when drilling/tightening the screws that no power, gas or water pipes
are damaged!

When installing the solar panel, for example, on a roof (such as a carport), make
sure the roof‘s water-tightness is maintained. Otherwise, water could leak in and
cause damage!

When connecting the sockets and jacks, make sure that the jack is fully and

fi

 rmly in

the socket; otherwise water can leak in, which could cause corrosion.

Place the cables so nobody can trip over them. Do not drive over or step on the
cables. Secure the cables e.g. with cable fasteners.

Protect the cables against sharp edges; do not kink the cables.

•  Install the solar panel in a suitable place.
Ideally, you should direct the solar panel at an angle of about 30° towards the south. Not only

does this increase the output of the solar panel, but the rain running off also washes away dirt
and leaves.

Connect the connection cable for the solar panel to the corresponding connector on the LED

light.

•   The LED light can be mounted very easily by using its retaining bracket. Direct the LED light

as desired, e.g. to light an entrance area, a terrace, or similar.

Due to the heavy weight, stable installation is required.
•   The PIR motion detector can be mounted on a wall or, for example, under a carport. To do

this, remove the single screw in the front cover of the retaining bracket and remove it. The
PIR motion detector can then be secured with two screws. Place the front cover on the device
and screw it

fi

 rmly in place.

The device must be mounted so the three rotary knobs point downwards.

Align the PIR motion detector with the desired detection area; the tilt can be adjusted after

loosening the retaining screw on the side.

•   Connect the PIR motion detector‘s connection cable with the corresponding connector on the

LED light.

Getting Started / Operation

•   Switch on the LED light; move the on/off switch on the top to the „I“ position.

Only in this position, can the integrated lead acid battery be charged by the solar

panel.

If the battery voltage is too low, the LEDs in the LED light may not work at their full
brightness, or they will not be activated, to prevent a deep discharge.

•   If you do not need the product, switch it off (move the on/off switch on the top of the LED light

to the „O“ position).

•  Align the PIR motion detector with the desired detection area, adjust the rotary knobs as

described in the chapter „Description of the rotary knobs on the PIR motion detector“.
