WEP
Encryption It specifies that a network key is used to encrypt the data is sent over
the network. When this checkbox is selected, it enables data
encryption and prompts the Encryption Strength drop-down menu.
Data Encryption (WEP Enabled) and Network Authentication use the
same key.
Encryption
strength A session’s key strength is proportional to the number of binary bits
comprising the session key file. This means that session keys with a
greater number of bits have a greater degree of security, and are
considerably more difficult to forcibly decode. This drop-down menu
sets either a 64-bit (5-ASCII characters or 10-hexadecimal characters)
or 128-bit (13-ASCII characters or 26-hexadecimal characters) key.
If you set a minimum 128-bit key strength, users attempting to
establish a secure communications channel with your server must use a
browser capable of communicating with a 128-bit session key.
The Encryption Strength settings do not display unless the network
Authentication (shared Mode) check box is selected.
