In cases where it is essential to have two distinct send signals, it is possible
to connect an additional stand-alone telephone hybrid (like the Comrex
DH20) to the STAC via the
Hybrid Expansion Port
on the STAC main-
frame rear panel. Essentially, the STAC mainframe will control the lines
and instead of forwarding calls to one of its internal hybrids, it will forward
them to your external hybrid. This will provide a separate send and re-
ceive audio port on the external hybrid, as shown in Figure 4. This mode
requires special jumper configuration on both the STAC and the DH20,
as well as special connections between them. See the Comrex application
