Removing and Replacing the
Processor Cage
The processor cage holds the Compaq system board configured with a 64-MB,
100-MHz, registered SDRAM DIMM, a Pentium II processor, a processor
power module, switches, and connectors.
To remove the cage:
1.
If the computer is on, turn it off and disconnect the power cord.
2.
Disconnect any other external equipment connected to the processor
cage.
CAUTION: If a security screw is installed in the left
side of the processor cage, remove the screw before
opening the cage. See Figure 3-5.
3.
Open the processor cage by first pressing up on the locking lever

to
unlock the cage and then pulling on the outer end of the release lever

to slide out the cage from the chassis.
