A.1.

INTRODUCTION

The linear optical smoke detector consists of two parts positioned one in front of the other:
–  An “Emitter/Receiver” part (E / R),
–  A reflector consisting of 1 safety reflector.

A.2.

USAGE LIMITS

The linear smoke detector cannot be installed inside buildings.

OPTICAL BLOCK

1 fastener screws

2 built-in laser pointer

3 button

4 terminal connector

5 indicator light

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT

In addition to the normal tools supplied, the following is required:
–  A piece of brown cardboard (packaging type) which can cover the whole surface of the reflector (minimum 10 cm

x 10 cm).

INSTALLATION RULES

A.2.1.  General rules

Installation must be carried out in compliance with national installation regulations.
Make sure both the detector and reflector can be accessed for commissioning and maintenance procedures.

A.2.2.  Rules for the installation site

The E / R and the reflector are installed vertically, one in front of the other, on a stable  wall; this stability must take
account of the following parameters:

Smooth fixing wall; if it is uneven, use an intermediate support (for example, a 20 mm thick plywood plate).

The building must be stable (exclude unstable walls, cladding, etc.).

Ambient  climatic  conditions  (for  supports  which  could  move  in  the  event  of  wind,  temperature  changes,

condensation, etc.).

A.2.3.  Optical rules

Do not expose the E / R and reflector to direct sunlight.
To accommodate the detector beam, provide a completely free circular area with a diameter of at least 60 cm; this is
necessary to ensure the product works properly.
