4.3 

 FOS CABLE CONNECTION 

4.3.1  GROUNDING THE FOS 

The FOS should be properly grounded before connecting any other cables to it. A ground terminal 
located on the FOS is used for grounding. This ground terminal must be electrically connected to the 
tower mounted with antenna. 

 

4.3.2  CONNECTING THE PAYLOAD CABLE 

Table below is a description of payload cable.

Payload cable with waterproof 
cover in one end, the cable is 
available in length of 20m, 50m 
and 100m.  

The end with the waterproof 
cover goes to the interface 
“OPT1 (IN/OUT)”, the other 
end without the waterproof 
connect to the third party. 

 

Payload cable with waterproof 
cover in both ends used for 
FOS cascade connection, 20m 
in length.  

One end goes to the interface 
“OPT1 (IN/OUT)” of one FOS, 
another end connect to the 
FOS used for cascade 
transmission.

Follow steps below to achieve the payload cable connection to FOS.

Remove the external cap and internal cap one by one, loosen the waterproof cover.

Insert the LC connector into the interface “OPT1 (IN/OUT)”.
