Core Layer
The Servers mentioned below belong to the core layer. They are responsible for distributing IP
addresses, offering authentication and accounting services, and providing the services etc.
a) VoIP server (For example: SIP server)
b) IPTV multi-cast server
c) PPPoE/DHCP server
Aggregation layer
Aggregation server works as a bridge between transmission layer and access layer. It separates data
of different services via different VLAN TAG.
Access layer
EPON system belongs to the access layer and provides access service for different type of traffic.
