Functional Description:
The Aluminium hand winch is a drum winch with roller chain drive.
A spring-loaded brake built into the drum automatically holds the load.
By changing the crank sockets, the winch can be used for winding the unloaded rope on or off, respectively for
small loads in the fast speed.
The wire rope winch is not suitable for major transformations of energy during lowering operation.
When load is lowered, the potential energy (lifted load) is dissipated into the brake to heat.
The bigger the potential energy (m*g*h) and the shorter the lowering time, the higher is the lowering
power. At bigger lowering heights we recommend our Electric wire rope winches or our Wire rope
winches with brake regulator.

Mounting Instructions
Mounting:
ATTENTION:
the mounting structure must be designed to sustain the max.
forces imposed by the winch,
pay careful attention that the mounting surface is flat and true,
only fix the winch by means of good quality screws,
tighten the screws evenly
secure the screws
ensure that the crank is free running (crank
clearance)

Wire rope coiling
ATTENTION:
With wrong rope coiling the brake is not effective.
Rope coiling has to be effected acc. to the drawing (direction by choice).
Wire rope fixing
Insert the rope in consideration of rope winding direction.
Tighten clamping screws.

For rope selection pay attention to the technical data for the wire rope (see page 8)
Calculate the rope length in such a way that at least 3 full turns of rope remain on
the drum in lowest load position.

Safety Instruction
The winch is only suited for manual operation.
Before beginning of work, depending of the individual operating mo-
dus insert the crank totally into the drum direct socket (fast speed) or
into the drive pinion socket (load speed), until the safety device
catches.

The crank can be inserted on both sides.
Pay attention of turning direction!
The load is lifted by turning the crank clockwise.
The load is lowered by turning the crank counter clockwise.
