It is recommended that before changing any of the boards, that the cable connections to these
boards are checked for loose wires, bad connections and proper insertion and that the PSU
voltages are correct.
Recommended Repair Suggestion Chart.

A
Check power source is supplying voltage. If so, check the power cable i.e. fuse or
broken wire.
B
Check Colortrac software and scanner drivers are installed correctly.
D
Replace Combined Main board as chapters 6.3 pages 36.
E
Replace PSU as in chapter 6.5 page 40.
F
Replace Display board as in chapter 6.1 page 20.
G
Replace Keypad (Control panel) as in chapter 6.1 page 20.
H
Check USB2 cable to connection. If the cable seems OK, check the USB2 card. Check
the card and cable see another USB2 device.
J
Check and replace motor as in chapter 6.8 page 60.
K
Check the ‘PIC’ chip is correctly inserted in display board, if incorrectly inserted, a
replacement will be required as damage can be sustained.
L
Remove and check each ribbon cable to each CIS in turn. Make sure that the cable
has a good contact in the connector and has not been broken.
M
Check the CIS devices light up during operation. If any of the CIS arrays don’t light up,
carry out instruction L above. Replace CIS if still fails to work as in chapter 6.2 page 26
N
Hold finger over the front sensor, if this does not activate the motor, hold finger over
the rear sensor. If the motor activates, then the sensor cables are plugged into the
display board the wrong way round. If neither operates the motor, the check for bad
connection or replace sensor as chapter 6.9 page 63
P
Check Main Timing Belt is not stretched, replace if necessary as chapter 6.5 page 47
R
Check pulleys are not loose and tighten if necessary.
S
Check the USB speed to ensure that a USB2 device is being used. These scanners do
NOT work with USB1
T
Run the Full Normalisation program in the Utilities program downloaded on PC.
U
Run the factory Normalisation in the Utilities program downloaded on PC.
W
Run the manual stitch program in the Utilities program.
X
Return scanner to factory setting by downloading appropriate .dat file sent by support.
