Use
Before initial use
• Use a soft damp cloth to wipe the product.
• Both the carafe and its lid are dishwasher safe.
• Before initially using the coffee maker you should run the machine through two to
three filtration cycles at full water capacity but without coffee grounds. This should
also be done when the appliance has not been used for a while and after descaling.
General
• The measuring scale on the water reservoir makes it easier for you to fill the reservoir
with the correct amount of water. Make sure not to exceed the maximum water level.
• If you intend to brew several pots of coffee you should turn it off after every brewed
pot and let the machine rest for about 5 minutes between brewing.
Brewing coffee
1. Open the lid, fill the water reservoir with the correct amount of water and close the lid.
2. Swing out the filter holder and insert a size
1 x 4
paper filter into the holder, or use
the provided universal filter.
3. For every cup about 6 g (1½–2 teaspoons) of ground coffee is needed. Close the
filter holder after filling with coffee and make sure that it is locked into place.
4. Place the carafe under the filter holder. Make sure the carafe lid is correctly in
place to prevent the drip-stop mechanism on the filter assembly from operating
during brewing.
5. Plug the coffee maker into a convenient wall socket and switch it on using
the on/off switch.
6. Wait until all the water has run through the filter before trying to remove
the carafe from the hotplate.
7. The coffee can be kept warm in the carafe if you leave it on the hotplate.
The hotplate will stay warm until the machine is turned off. Always turn off
the appliance after use and remove the plug from the wall socket.
